Social development happens anywhere there are two children or more. Children learn to negotiate, take turns, develop skills to resolve conflict, listern to other perspectives, work individually and as part of a team. Our pets are a great catalyst for children learning to develop empathy, how to care for another living thing and an appreciation for how another feels. Building and maintaining relationships are a lifelong skill. Allowing children the opportunities to resolve conflict or disagreements and organise their own social situations sets them up for a life time of invaluable skills.
